In two weeks we will be showing Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings at our store and making use of our new sound system. In order to celebrate this movie, we will be giving away 10 onion rings with every purchase of $5 or more. So Wednesday, January 19th come in and place an order for food and/or ice cream worth at least $5 before the movie starts at 5PM and receive 10 crispy onion rings. The movie is being shown for free for your enjoyment.
Obviously, mentioning onion rings makes me think of a story of something that happened to me a few years ago. I am really good at math but I had made a simple error in a report that I had turned into my manager. To try and embarrass me about it in front of others that I worked with, she asked, “If you had four onion rings and, I asked for one of them, how many onion rings would you have left?”
Without missing a beat, I replied, “If it was you that asked, I would still have four!”
As you may have surmised, I no longer work there.
Let’s talk about some of the other things we have coming up in the not too distant future:
- Friday, January 7th, 6:30ish – 9PM, Board Game Night ~ This has long been a tradition to come in on a Friday and have fun playing games.
- Saturday, January 8th, 7PM 8:30 PM, Bereans Group ~ This group, which is open to the public, is looking at an important and difficult discussion on whether or not other monotheistic religions worship the same God as Christians.
- Tuesday, January 11th, 7 PM – 8:30 PM, Bible Study ~ We are doing a series on the leaders of Israel. We’re far enough into I Kings and II Chronicles that the Northern kingdom has resorted to worshipping golden calves and the Southern kingdom is erecting asherah poles and has started a male prostitution cult. Join us and see if Israel starts to right itself, or if it can somehow get even worse!
- Wednesday, January 19th, 5 PM – ???, Movie Night ~ Once a month we are going to be showing a movie. This month it will be Shang-chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. We do not charge admission to our films, so feel free to come in and hang out with us.
Now for the part everyone always asks about, the food! Our current sandwich is a grilled chicken wrap, our current soup is Grandma’s Sausage and Bean Soup and our current specialty ice creams are Egg Nog and Salted Caramel Brownie.
